Alanson Media handles the complete project: site survey, display selection, mounting, cabling, content management software setup, network configuration, and staff training — all under one contract.

Digital Signage — Common Questions

What is the difference between a commercial display and a consumer TV?
Commercial displays are built for 16–24 hours of daily operation with higher brightness, media players, auto-on scheduling, remote management, and commercial warranties. Consumer TVs are designed for home use and fail quickly in signage applications. We only install commercial-grade panels.
How do I update content on my digital signage?
We set up a cloud-based content management platform so you can update content from any browser or mobile device. Most platforms support daypart scheduling — your breakfast menu shows in the morning and your lunch specials take over automatically.
How much does digital signage cost in Ontario?
A single commercial display installation in Southwestern Ontario typically ranges from $1,500 to $4,000 CAD depending on display size, mounting requirements, and software. Multi-screen and video wall projects are quoted per-project. We provide fixed-price proposals with no surprises.
Do you service existing signage another company installed?
Yes. We regularly take over support of existing systems, including software migrations, hardware replacements, and network troubleshooting. Contact us with details of your current setup and we will advise on the best path forward.
Can digital signage work without an internet connection?
Yes. Most signage players store content locally so displays continue running if internet goes down. Remote content updates require connectivity, but the display runs its last downloaded playlist indefinitely. For critical applications we can set up local network updates as backup.
